Overwatch 2 System Requirements

Looking for Overwatch 2 System Requirements?

If so, I can safely presume that you are someone who really enjoys FPS games.

Since Overwatch 2 is a game that has not been launched yet, determining its system requirements seems more of a guessing game. Having said that, the usual approach remains the same and it is not hard to determine what requirements this game should suffice or need.

First of all, you will need to make out what components you have, mainly in terms of CPU, GPU, and RAM. In light of the system requirements mentioned below, if you fall short, then you need to get the required resources so that you can experience smooth gameplay.

Here is is important to note that I have segregated Overwatch 2 system requirements into two main categories – Minimum and Recommended (which also happens to be the usual practice). Furthermore, I would like to reiterate the fact that it is always better to go for the recommended system requirements rather than aiming for the minimum requirements. The reason behind this is pretty simple – You won’t be disappointed if the game does not run as intended on minimum settings.

Overwatch 2 Game Info

Before I list Overwatch 2 System Requirements (Predicted), let’s find out more about this game.

  • Release Date – The release date is yet to be announced. While it is not expected any time in 2021, it is quite possible that it will be released anytime in 2024.
  • System Requirements – I can safely presume that the Overwatch 2 PC specs are going to be within the medium range.
  • Genre – Like Overwatch, Overwatch 2 is also going to be a multiplayer FPS (first-person shooter) game.
  • Developer – Blizzard Entertainment
  • Publisher – Blizzard Entertainment

Initially announced back at BlizzCon in 2019, Overwatch is the much anticipated sequel to the highly popular FPS Overwatch. It goes without saying that Overwatch seems to have become a cult classic and the developed Blizzard Etertainment seems to be building upon the same concept in Overwatch 2.

What you enjoyed in Overwatch, namely maps, modes, and heroes will continue to feature in the sequel as well with the addition of more features and heroes.

What is known, however, is that Overwatch 2 is going to feature a persistent PvE mode so that players can take part in co-operative play. They will also have the ability to unlock new hero skills and further improve their experience as they move ahead in the game. Furthermore, it is also expected that the PvE mode is going to be divided into the story mode with a rich narrative and a tower device-like hero-specific variant. This is what is going to make it even more interesting than Overwatch.

It is also expected that Overwatch 2 is going to use an updated iteration of the shared environment since it has to deal with bigger maps and the PvE facet of the game. Furthermore, what is known at the moment is that Overwatch 2 is going to have two new heroes that include:

  • A robot, known by the name of Echo and
  • An Overwatch officer, known by the name of Sojourn

Optimal Hardware Suggestions

As far as hardware is concerned, with the minimum system requirements, our best guess is that 30 FPS at 720p with settings turned down to low is going to be good enough. Having said that, it is expected that there are going to be quite a few graphical options and sliders to tweak so that you can set up what works for you.

Now, as far as recommended requirements are concerned, we can expect the frame rate to be at 60 at 1080p along with settings set to high. Moreover, it is expected that 6-8 GB of RAM is going to be what you will need along with at least a GTX 1660 for good performance.

Here, I would like to reiterate that the game is still in the early stages of development and it is not going to be released any time soon. The settings mentioned here, both minimum and recommended, are purely speculative.
